Become an Association Plank Owner!
A Plank Owner is a member of the original commissioning crew of a ship or a newly commissioned unit. The term comes from the tradition of commissioning crew members taking a plank from the ship's deck as a keepsake.
In honor of this long standing Navy tradition, we recognize our earliest supporters who donate at least $827 as Plank Owner of the USS Wisconsin SSBN 827 Association. Those who continue to donate $82.70 per year are our Sustaining Plank Owners. The Plank Owner donation level will be available only until the ship’s Christening Date. Until then supporters who donate at that level will be recognized in the special Plankowner section on the Supporters page. After the ship’s christening the Plank Owner donation level will become “Chief of the Boat”. But the Plank Owner designation is forever. We will always recognize the generous support of our earliest donors with a “P” for Plank Owners or “P*” for Sustaining Plank Owners after their names.

Other Ways to Give
Bequests. Give your gift as a bequest. In your estate planning documents consider adding a gift to the USS Wisconsin SSBN 827 Association.
Donations from IRA. If you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to the USS Wisconsin SSBN 827 Association will count toward your RMD and be excluded from your taxable income.
Annual Giving/Pledge. Your annual donation will connect Wisconsin with USS Wisconsin in STEM activities, crew visits, ceremonial events and much more. Your donation is much appreciated.
